About me

I have had passion for clinical social work, psychotherapy and Jungian analysis for most of my adult life. The following is a story of my beginning my path to becoming a Jungian analyst.

In 1971, I worked the graveyard shift at a Shell station in Santa Clara, California, but I needed a small internship for a sociology class I was taking at a local college. Every Sunday morning at 3 a.m., a nurse would come in for car service. I got to know her over the months. One morning I asked her where she worked and if she could help me secure an internship somewhere. Sure enough, she did! The next week, I found myself working in the locked men’s unit at Agnew State Mental Hospital. And from the beginning, I loved it. I had an excellent supervisor who allowed me to facilitate weekly group therapy, and I followed two individuals each week in counseling. I seemed to have a talent and affinity for it. It was from here that my journey began.
